Sears, Roebuck & Co.
Denali Group professionals headed the Modifications and Development team, the Configuration and Testing team and the workflow development effort at Sears. In addition, they played pivotal roles in the development, configuration and tuning of the system architecture.
A Denali Group professional headed the Modifications and Development team responsible for designing and developing custom modifications to the PeopleSoft Financial applications. Denali Group professionals developed methodologies and procedures for the design, development, and controlled migration of customized PeopleSoft objects. The Modifications and Development team worked with end users and business systems analysts to functionally and technically design all of the required customizations. Once development was complete, a thorough unit test and user sign-off was completed successfully before any developed product was migrated to the implementation databases.
A Denali Group professional created custom workflow functionality for PeopleSoft's Project Costing application. Over 70 multi-step approval rules, including Worklists and email notifications, were designed, developed, and deployed. The final delivered solution offered the ability to approve, recycle, or deny capital and expense projects. In addition to the original project approvals, the workflow solution was built to handled approvals for the additional funding of a project. The E-mail notification of status change, project cancellation, and completion date changes completed the workflow solution.
A Denali professional led the Configuration and Testing team for the General Ledger application. This included gathering business requirements, developing process flows, configuring the application and testing its functionality. Denali put into place methodologies for capturing business processes, documenting configuration and thoroughly and efficiently testing the system. In addition, the GL team worked with other implementation teams to ensure that the system was configured to support a comprehensive business solution.
Denali was heavily involved in the stabilization of the PeopleSoft technical architecture. This involved bringing Sears into line with standard PeopleSoft system configuration practices. Denali professionals played key roles in upgrading Sears' system
from PeopleSoft release 7.0x to PeopleSoft release 7.5x. They also helped troubleshoot technical issues and tune the database, the application server and network connectivity. Denali professionals helped standardize the configuration of the implementation's many databases, application servers, file servers and client
workstations that became benchmarks for PeopleSoft's client base.
Sprint
A Denali professional customized and installed a PeopleSoft Packaged Solution for PeopleSoft's Project Costing application. Sprint purchased a Packaged Solution from PeopleSoft, which was designed to allow users to make Project entries while the system simultaneously created corresponding Journal Entries into General Ledger. This saved time and steps for Sprint who used PeopleSoft Projects as a global subledger for the PeopleSoft General Ledger. The Packaged Solution was delivered completely developed, but Sprint required elements which were not included in the original design. Denali Group professionals worked with Sprint's business system analysts to successfully translated their functional requirements into technical specifications. The modifications and development work was completed and deployed.
A Denali professional designed and implemented workflow for PeopleSoft's Asset Management and Purchasing modules. Database agents, time out processing, route controls, and e-mail notifications were all included in the workflow features developed for Sprint. The additional workflow functionality was deployed to handle asset transfers, requisition approval, and purchase order Approval.
The New York Times
A Denali Group professional played a primary role in the de-bugging, stabilization and deployment of heavily customized PeopleSoft Accounts Payable, Asset Management, General Ledger and Purchasing applications. He served as a member of the PeopleSoft deployment team, which was responsible for working with technical developers to resolve major system incidents and to successfully deploy the applications. He identified and fixed application problems, particularly in the Accounts Payable, Asset Management, General Ledger, Purchasing and Workflow areas, and tested these application changes. As part of this effort, several other functions were successfully executed by this Denali professional. He scheduled, tested and stabilized the month-end accounting close process, designed custom management reports, documented the system's configuration and measured process performance. This Denali professional helped transfer knowledge to the client's functional and technical resources and was the course instructor for Accounts Payable, Asset Management, Crystal/Query, General Ledger, PeopleTools, Project Costing and Purchasing training.
CISCO
A Denali consultant developed several prototypes for one of PeopleSoft's release
8 beta sites. This involved web deployment of
PeopleSoft HRMS Manager Self Service. The project involved, a workflow solution
for routing job change data, salary increases, and employee information. It
included use of customizing the delivered applications to meet the client
project specifications and allow easy manipulation over the company intranet. PeopleCode,
HTML, and ASP customizations were utilized to control user processing and
application integrity. The result of these prototypes allowed the client to be
selected as a Beta release candidate for PeopleSoft.
Tandy
A Denali Group Upgrade/Installation specialist handled all phases of the PeopleSoft Asset Management upgrade from version 5.10 to version
7.5x. The installation of a version 7.5x demo database, configuration of client workstations, and configuration of application servers were among the numerous steps which were performed in order to successfully upgrade the software. In addition to the application upgrade, PeopleTools was successfully upgraded to version
7.5x. When the upgrade was completed, Denali Group professionals performed stress testing on the version 6.3 application server.
American Electric Power
Denali Group professionals created a custom application for controlling leased assets. This custom application integrated with PeopleSoft Asset Management, while adding functionality and workflow approval processing. The development project utilized PeopleTools, PeopleCode, and Workflow Administration. Complex routing strategies defined by route controls, time out processing, and worklist monitoring were incorporated into the worklists within the workflow approval process.
Borden Foods
A Denali Group professional designed and developed the company's financial & managerial reporting for PeopleSoft's General Ledger application. Making use of PeopleTools, nVision, Crystal, and Visual Basic, this Denali professional was able to develop a total reporting and deployment solution for Borden Foods. The establishment of summary ledgers, trees, and combo edit configurations was also within the scope of this project, as was the performance tuning of nVision Reports.
Honeywell
A Denali Group professional facilitated the technical lead on a web implementation team of
both the PeopleSoft Employee Self Service and the Manager Self Service modules.
Both projects incorporated base applications of HRMS including Personal Data,
Direct Deposit, Paycheck confirmation, and Job Change Information with the
ability to enforce full PeopleSoft security and Workflow notifications.
The applications were rolled out on the corporate intranet to over 40,000
employees and 200 managers.
Application expertise, knowledge transfer and production support strategies were the primary values delivered to
Honeywell. This expertise was put to work managing the production rollout of
the applications. The successful implementation of these web-based applications
allowed Honeywell to be a leader Employee and Manager services.
ASACO
A Denali Group Upgrade/Installation specialist headed the upgrade project for this PeopleSoft HRMS customer. Every aspect of the upgrade was under our professional's responsibility. This involved several elements, including upgrading the file server from OS/2 Warp to Windows NT 4.0, configuring client workstation from PeopleSoft version 5.0 to
7.0, upgrading PeopleTools from 5.10 to 7.0, and upgrading the HRMS applications from version 5.00 to
7.00. Once the upgrades were complete, the system was tested, debugged, and process scheduler was configured.
Connecticut Natural Gas
A Denali Group professional played a primary role on the implementation team of a project implementing PeopleSoft's Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Inventory and Purchasing modules. Functional expertise, knowledge transfer and application de-bugging were the primary values delivered to Connecticut Natural Gas. This expertise was put to work managing the unit and user acceptance of all four applications. He implemented requisition and journal workflow approval. In addition, this Denali Professional executed the successful deployment of General Ledger, Inventory, Payables and
Purchasing.
Utilicorp

A Denali professional worked with the customer to analyze all delivered PeopleSoft workflows. Upon completion of the evaluation, 20 PeopleSoft workflows were selected for implementation in the first phase of the project. The selected workflows utilized e-mail notifications, worklist routing, approval processing and database agents. All 20 workflow functions were successfully implemented and spanned several applications including Accounts Receivable, Asset Management, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Inventory, Manufacturing, Order Management and Purchasing.
Norstan Communications
A Denali Group professional performed a pilot walk through on PeopleSoft's Purchasing application. Early in Norstan's implementation, they wanted a tutorial style walk through of the application, which would prepare their professionals for PeopleSoft training and the business process reviews. The result was a very interactive session that was partly a pilot of the software and partly a tutorial of the PeopleSoft application.
IndyMac
A Denali specialist developed a workflow solution which handled journal entry approval, journal entry processing, and additional PeopleCode customizations to control user processing. The journal approvals utilized worklists, e-mail routings, pooled worklists, and timeout processing. In addition to the approval controls, the client required that users be prohibited from submitting duplicate entries, submitting non-valid journals and having online access to journals while in the approval process. These requirements were incorporated into the developed workflow solution.
